CFSC Launches Fundraising Campaign

The community fundraising campaign for the new Chester Village and surrounding area fire station was launched at the Chester Yacht Club's annual Recognition and Appreciation Evening for our volunteer firefighters of the Chester Volunteer Fire Department.

As the climate and the community change, the demand and pressure on our volunteers grows. With 320 emergency calls in 2024, the needs for emergency service far exceed the capacity of our 60 year old fire hall.

Ensuring a safe work environment for our firefighters - including decontamination equipment, space for new equipment, and proper facilities that will meet the needs of the future - is critical for recruitment, retention, and safety of volunteer firefighters.

We invite every member of the community to support the new fire station and the dedicated volunteers who take great personal risk and disrupt their family life to serve our community, and we thank members of the Yacht Club for their efforts in recognizing and supporting our firefighters on Friday evening.
